Who is Chad Allen Barton?
Chad Allen Barton is a Memphis filmmaker, director, and producer who has been making films and other original productions since 2010.
He currently works as a Producer at The Library Channel at Memphis Public Libraries, creating original programming about the people, music, organizations, and communities that make Memphis what it is.
His work at The Library Channel includes StoryTime, an original children's series following Kevin, a Floppy from Floppyland who discovers books and the Memphis Public Library; From the Bookstore, an intimate live music performance series featuring Memphis artists; and A Few of My Favorite Things, a long-form documentary series exploring interesting people, places, and communities around the city. He also produces Memphis Makers, a documentary series highlighting Memphis nonprofits and community organizations.
Outside of The Library Channel, Chad continues to write, direct, and produce independent films. His recent work includes the short films How Deep Is Your Love, Follower, and the upcoming sci-fi/horror short Silhouette Prayer. He is also producing a documentary exploring the surprising connections between Memphis and Star Trek.
Chad's work has taken him from independent film sets and music venues to libraries, museums, armored combat arenas, and interviews with Memphis creatives across the country.
